To gather the community, diplomats, representatives of the Malaysian governments as well as U.S. and Malaysian corporates to celebrate the 246th U.S. Independence Day.
To send the appreciation to all sacrifices who bring the world closer than ever to declaring independence against the virus.
The guest-of-honor was YB Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry, who was welcomed by U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia Brian McFeeters. Azmin and McFeeters were escorted by U.S. Marine Corps members to the main stage, where a toast was raised to the success and prosperity of both countries.
The "Culinary Road Trip" themed reception included a stunning performance by the U.S. Pacific Fleet Band and the presentation of the colors by the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur Marine Corps Detachment Color Guard.
The event industry has completely changed in the past few years due to the pandemic. For nearly three years nothing could be celebrated, U.S. Embassy in Malaysia wanted to host an engaging and unforgettable event experience for the VIPs and guests. Therefore, a.c.e is committing to manage the event, taking every aspect of the event into consideration to make things happen.
Event management processes have become increasingly complex, requires close coordination and clear communication among crew members and event guests.
When the number of event guests hit the thousands, it is exclusively challenging to greet and swiftly usher the event guest. Security checks take place at the entry point. We have implemented an advance admission system to keep event reception goes on smoothly.
Despite the constant emergence of new coronavirus variants, we want to bring in-person events back safely. We make it easy to rationalize event safety etiquette while leveraging the role of technology in pandemic compliance.
It is always important to plan for contingencies. To identify all the foreseeable event risks, we have coordinated with the authorities and everyone knows their roles.
Event networking has always been one of the direct ways to increase a sense of community and belongingness amongst people. Many diplomats and representative guests who shared common ground and values look forward to social interaction.
U.S. Embassy expressed that flourishing human emotion and engagement reinforces a.c.e to design the patriotism and impactful event experience.
McFeeters said the U.S. was promoting an ‘open road’ for visitors to tour America, to explore, experience, and make connections. Malaysia’s relations with the United States have been longstanding, robust, and institutionalized.
The reception was themed ‘Culinary Road Trip’ with a focus on American food and automobiles. The food spread featured assortments from across the United States, including the amazing Mid-Atlantic buffalo wings, New England clam chowder, Tillamook creamy ice cream, and different kinds of cheese.
The classic Harley Davidson motorcycles were displayed to exemplify the independent American spirit, and Tesla automobiles represent the much-needed transition towards electric vehicles.
Setting up a dynamic lighting mood can transform a venue space to create the desired atmosphere, using various colors and intensities of the lights to produce an astonishing visual effect. We enhanced the internal architecture and used colors to give impact to the stage, ceiling, walls, and gobos, using calming lighting to liven up venue spaces.
Having a great ambiance is certainly a great showcase for photography. Throughout the celebration, event photographers captured people and their joyful interactions. Patriotic-themed setup for event decorations, the American and Malaysia flags, red, white, and blue colors added the elements of excitement and pride for guests, it creates memories that will last forever.
There is an adage: ‘It’s not what you know, it’s who you know’. We put the right people in the right roles to facilitate the success of the event. As an experienced event management company, a.c.e established long-term relationships with members of the events industry, convention bureau, chamber of commerce, and industry as well as licensing authorities.
For the Independence Day reception, U.S. Embassy awarded a.c.e for organizing and managing the event. Management of the event will cover venue, food catering services, protocol arrangements, audio, visual and technical matters. The tasks assigned require careful preparation and meetings with different parties involved; coordination with all services on the timeline for installation at Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

During the reception, the US Pacific Fleet Big Wave Brass Band presented a captivating and dynamic performance that added energy to the event and moved the crowd. Despite being an indoor venue, the festivities added a touch of brilliance, with a digital fireworks display marking the end of the event, which made the milestone anniversary event the best it could be.
